External Relations and Policy Advisor
 
  • Contribute to health policy and analysis
  • Monitor the policy and political landscape and synthesise to inform organisational decision making.
  • Full time, maximum term contract until 30 June 2021

What you’ll be doing

An exciting opportunity has come up for an influential policy advisor with experience working in a similar role to join the Corporate Affairs and Communication team. In this role you will be responsible for coordinating and supporting our external policy processes, providing policy insights to the organisation, sector environmental scanning and analysis, as well as supporting internal and external stakeholder engagement and management to drive improved collaboration and engagement.

What you will need

  • At least 3-5 years relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent policy analysis skills and a demonstrable knowledge of policy processes and levers, particularly within the health sector.
  • Influential communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Relationship management skills, including the ability to manage the needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Development of key stakeholder and external relationship plans.
  • Experience in maintaining stakeholder networks.
  • Excellent project management, time management and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated team player with a strong solution-focused approach.
  • A degree in social science, health policy, public health, business, strategy, communications or other relevant field.
  • Knowledge of the health sector and, ideally, the current political environment.
