Health Technology Solutions Manager

What you’ll be doing

This role is accountable for working with external technology partners and internal teams to provide the technologies, infrastructure, standards and capabilities to enable the NPS MedicineWise Group to connect up and deliver meaningful data and information for use in decisions made by consumers, prescribers, health professionals and policy makers. It includes accountability for health technology solutions based on the MedicineInsight data set. You will proactively manage the IT teams to ensure the infrastructure is aligned with business needs, and be the lead technical expert for the data warehouse and visualization portal.

What is MedicineInsight?

Our MedicineInsight data set is building a reputation as the most credible, ethically governed and validated source of longitudinal data from general practice clinical information systems in Australia.
It is the preferred data source:

  • For quality improvement in primary care
  • To support the decisions of regulators and payers at all stages of the health technology life cycle (particulary for medicines)
  • To inform policy development implementation and practice in primary care
  • To develop the research base and understanding of the quality of primary care delivery in Australia
  • To support research for better patient outcomes in primary care.

What you will need

  • Preferred qualification/experience in health informatics/providing IT solutions in a health related environment
  • Sound understanding of the Australian health environment, systems and standards
  • Demonstrated effectiveness as a manager, with proven ability to develop and meet operational and budgetary objectives, as well as provide leadership in professional standards and ethics
  • Highly motivated with strong product and project management skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a culture that encourages positive working relationships, a safe workplace, financial responsibility, innovation and productivity improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with external partners and customers - as well as high level relationship management skills and the ability to manage the needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Experience commercialising products
  • Excellent leadership, people management skills and the ability to develop staff capability 
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of business processes and strategic planning
  • Proven ability to critically analyse problems and situations and recommend solutions
  • High level negotiation and influencing skills
