Epidemiologist MedicineInsight

About the opportunity – based in Sydney

MedicineInsight is a landmark program that aims to improve understanding of how health information is used in Australian general practice. The program achieves this by collecting longitudinal, real world and de-identified clinical information from GP desktop systems across Australia. MedicineInsight analyses data collected from practices and provides this information back to practices as part of a whole of practice quality improvement intervention. In an exciting growth period, MedicineInsight is starting to develop a number of data products for uses outside of quality improvement activities. 

An exciting opportunity exists for an Epidemiologist or Biostatistician to join our growing MedicineInsight team. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of methods for the analysis of complex data for multiple projects within tight timeframes.

You will need to meet contract deliverables as well as emerging business opportunities and address complex and technical problems with data quality. Knowledge and experience in big data (health) and with other statistical analytics software and Pharmaco-epidemiology qualifications is a plus!

About you

  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications (eg epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, public health,)
  • Excellent understanding of pharmaco-epidemiological and bio-statistical analysis methods 
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient using SAS analytical software
  • Experience in the analysis and interpretation of large complex health datasets
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Ability to independently solve problems and manage personal work priorities
  • Confident presentation skills and ability to present complex information in a concise and meaningful manner
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication
  • High level computer literacy.
