About the opportunity – Based in Sydney

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Epidemiologist to join the Evaluation team at NPS MedicineWise. In this role you will design and conduct evaluation and research studies with a range of methods to assess NPS MedicineWise programs’ impact on drug utilisation, health and economic outcomes at the national level. You will also be responsible for conducting data analyses and communicating findings to internal and external audiences.

This role would be a great fit for a passionate Epidemiologist who thrives working on multiple and complex projects with tight timeframes, is able to address complex and technical problems with data quality, and understands how to adapt established methods and develop novel methods to address emerging health policy and practice problems. Pharmaco-epidemiology qualification and proven publication record in peer-reviewed journals a plus!

About you

  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications in epidemiology, public health and/or biostatistics
  • Excellent understanding of pharmacoepidemiological and biostatistical analysis methods 
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience using  SAS and TreeAge software
  • Experience in interpreting and writing about statistical findings
  • Experience in the analysis and interpretation of large complex health datasets including linked data
  • Experience in conducting health economics studies
  • Experience in conducting health outcomes studies
  • Experience in epidemiological study design
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Ability to independently solve problems and manage personal work priorities
  • Confident presentation skills and ability to present complex information in a concise and meaningful manner
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated high level of computer literacy
  • Understanding of Australian health care system

Located in Sydney the Evaluation team consists of a talented group of Epidemiologists, Statisticians and a Data Analyst whose responsibilities include enterprise evaluation of impact, development programs, international customers, innovation enablement.
