Clinical Product Specialist

About the opportunity - based in Sydney

NPS MedicineWise has established an excellent reputation for our work in programs, products and services to improve the quality use of medicines and medical tests in Australia. The Clinical Product Specialist will lead the design, development and delivery of national educational and behavioural change interventions for health professionals to improve the use of medicines and medical tests. To succeed in this role, you will need to have accurate specification of product design and content with a clear understanding and presentation of health data.

Furthermore, you will work closely with the manager to provide operational advice and direction, with a particular focus on project planning and work flows. In this role you will also work collaboratively to share clinical and technical expertise with members of the Health Professional Learning team and the wider organization.

About you

  • Relevant qualifications in clinical pharmacy, public health or related health discipline.  (Clinical experience is not essential)
  • Good understanding of primary care.
  • High level logic and analytic skills with experience in interpretation and presentation of health data.
  • Previous experience writing for health professionals.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience in application of quality improvement principles and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to write specifications for product development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work at a senior level with minimal supervision on complex and challenging work streams and projects.
  • Evidence appraisal skills including well developed information retrieval skills (database and literature searching).
  • Excellent oral and written, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to work effectively as part of a team.

Eligibility

This role will require you to hold and maintain an Australian Government Baseline Clearance. Due to the nature of employment, all candidates are required to be an Australian Citizen possessing a minimum Baseline Clearance, or be able to obtain a Baseline Clearance. The successful applicant will be required to undergo a security assessment to obtain a baseline level clearance, and to maintain that level of clearance while in this role.

About the team

The Health Professional Learning team manages all aspects of product development and implementation for a suite of quality improvement products delivered at a national level to health professionals. The product suite includes, but is not limited to clinical audit, data and feedback reports, and drug use evaluation tools. The team ensures the products are useful, practical and relevant to the health professional audience, and contribute to improving the health of Australians. The team works closely with other teams particularly within the Program and Product Development Business Unit and across the organisation to efficiently deliver high quality products to our audience.

The Health Professional Learning team is located in Sydney and comprises 6 team members with specialist knowledge and skills in health professional learning, quality improvement, behaviour change methodology, data interpretation and data analysis.
