PHN Immunisation Support Program Manager

About the opportunity

NPS MedicineWise has established an excellent reputation for our work in programs, products and services to improve the quality use of medicines and medical tests in Australia.
The PHN Immunisation Support Program Manager will focus on the technical and clinical aspects of program implementation, activities and products for health professionals. To be successful, you will need to be aware of current developments in immunization, and the issues in community health, Aboriginal medical services, local councils and pharmacies in delivering immunisation programs to their patients and communities, consistent with the Australian Immunisation Handbook and National Immunisation Program (NIP).

About you

  • Graduate degree in the medical, pharmacy, nursing, science or related health discipline and sound relevant clinical experience.
  • Previous clinical or research experience, ideally in Immunisation or Infectious Diseases 
  • Superior critical appraisal skills and proven abiity to apply these in relevant content domains.
  • Demonstrated clinical adaptability ie. developing and applying new knowledge and expertise in new yet relevant content domains.
  • Excellent networking and influencing skills, and demonstrated ability to negotiate and develop productive working and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and key opinion leaders.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including report writing experience, strong presentation skills and demonstrated ability to impart complex content and issues in an engaging manner.
  • Experience in application of quality improvement principles and processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to lead change and support ongoing improvement and innovation.
  • Proven ability to critically analyse situations and recommend solutions
  • Sound understanding of planning, budgeting and resource allocation processes.
  • Sound understanding of the primary care environment

Role Desirables

  • Knowledge of the Australian Immunisation Handbook and National Immunisation Program (NIP)  
  • Higher Degree in the pharmacy, nursing, science or related health discipline.
  • Project management experience.
  • Good understanding of adult education principles.
  • Experience implementing clinical practice improvement or change management strategies to improve patient care.
